About us
The idea of creating Hobimaailm came to us in 2007 when we were looking for exciting and engaging activities to enjoy together with our children. At the same time, we wanted something that wasn’t expensive, didn’t require lengthy preparation, or special skills. The fun of assembling a ship or airplane model, building a railway, or operating a remote-controlled vehicle was what captivated us. The emotions these activities evoked and the opportunity to share them brought double the joy and made our children’s eyes light up. Additionally, it brought a touch of nostalgia for us, as those PIKO trains that had been waiting in the attic for decades now run on today’s tracks, and model assembly is no longer as messy as it used to be. Meanwhile, a steam locomotive we once could only read about in Karlsson-on-the-Roof, a telescope to discover stars from home, remote-controlled cars, boats, planes, and drones—things we couldn’t even dream of back then—are now a reality.
We want to share this fascinating world, full of joy and activities that last far beyond just a weekend, with you. That’s why we aim to ensure that Hobimaailm offers experiences and activities for fathers, sons, and grandfathers alike.
Over nearly ten years of operation, we’ve supported the development of model sports in Estonia, helping with technical aspects such as tracks and infrastructure, organizing competitions, and supporting athletes. Some of the trophies shining proudly in our store's display case are a testament to this effort.
